@pifie[archived] started a thread asking people to make up new music genres. @candle suggested:
slothcore: "Very slow (like 20 - 40bpm), dirty & with long pauses to simulate naps. Perfect music for that overworked college/university student in your life."
So I made this song.

cool concept and execution. i bet that's what all the cool sloths listen to
This had me tapping my feet and headbanging! Yeah! Metal sloth baby! *headbangs* That big silence wasn't gonna deter me. I found the music in it anyway! Yeah! Slothcore! And also this was pleasant to listen to.
Yah for slothcore!!!! I've been slowly(no pun intended) working on one that's turned into two or three I might just mash all the tracks together.....anyway.. Those phases and sweeps are excellent for this and that first slow fade actually had me dragging and following it down with my head 😁 and I almost could of taken a nap!!!! Great pause! and all that glitchy goodness, I've got so much crap half-heartedly plugged in and wire trapped up and amps buzzing.... I thought I was having some new audio issues. Yeah slothcore for my new favorite genre 😁
This was delightful! Now I want to try my own hand at some slothcore!
So this is slothcore. Haha it's really cool that you took the genre description and made this track. Also until I read the liner notes in greater detail, I was wondering what was up with the silence. It's to "simulate naps"... That is hilarious, really nice interpretation of slothcore!
Welp - I think you actualized your genre with expertise. It sounds a bit sinister and cold, and for the record it works well while playing Mass Effect 2. Seriously. And it is slothy!
Makes me want to sloth mosh. Like The Jesus and Mary Chain on a million downers.
this is awesome
Cool! Love the offbeat bass and the overall sound palette. Those pauses are intense. @candle Sloth Mosh! now that causes a really bizarre Kopfkino PS: from this tune I get the impression that KC's "Deception of the thrush" might be an early predecessor of the new hype - have to look up the bpm
I'm really liking this new slothcore music. All the cool kids are doing it. This track is really hypnotic and lovely. It's strange; the pause is full of tension - when's it gonna start again?!? Excellent work here!
Very cool track that guitar by the end even sounds a bit like yawning in my head hahahahah I'm loving this new genre
Oh that is so cool. Slowly moving my head to the beat.
Oh yeah. That drum beat is so slow & mellow. I love the synth & that phat bass. And there's the pause. Every time I listen to a #slothcore track (even my own), I feel like I can still hear the music during the silence. It's a weird, but awesome side-effect of that silence. So cool. This is a great addition to the young #slothcore genre. See You In The Shadows… p.s. I want to see a Sloth Mosh! LOL
This interpretation of the newest genre is intriguing. Like a 90s trip hop cassette played at the wrong speed. I count six slothcore songs so far, and that's just the ones that have been tagged. Something exciting ifs being birthed here.
Deep, dark, moody; all sorts of slowness and coolness wrapped in here!
I came to see what this slothcore i keep hearing mentioned is all about! well that was moody! it's like it's a 45 being played at 33, but in tune. I genuinely thought it was finished aswell, but it was just a nap phase!! I love the fawm community and the creativity from challenges like this!
this is great! love the drums being all punchy and slow like that, deffo a good beat going with the low bpm. the ambient structures the song and shapes it into a cool wave of relaxation. 😁
Ja, well done. Very hairy. You really take your time. Pure smooth slothcore. @sph I just listend to the mentioned KC track... what a great track and most dev this is where slothcore evolved from, sort of. A lil bit to fast in the movements, but...
woah that is a creepy sloth. Like it's trying to murder you. Very slowly. And then took a nap.
I really love it. So hypnotic. Really dramatic/theatrical the way the parts come in and out with each other. I cannot tell a lie however I skipped through the silence in the middle. Drums, synth and bass all are really great sounds.
I love how so many of these are like mood setting music playing in the background of a movie or television program. This one reminds me of walking (or perhaps driving) along a spottily lit city street late at night in an intermittent light rain.
Welp, guess sloth core has to be a thing now. Very soothing. We all need to slow down sometimes and listen more carefully to the world.
If I was a sloth, I’d totally make sloth core. I wonder if this is what the department of Motor vehicles employees listen to
