@elesimo[archived]: "I love @popmythology[archived]'s lyrics because they're so musical! Every time I read them the melody just pops up into my head. When I saw these lyrics and I had this idea of recording them in a very minimalist song, with a megaphone style chorus. In the end the megaphone idea didn't work out, so I left only vocals, bass and pads."
Tried so hard to get my way I’d get on my knees and pray Lord, I can’t carry anymore Won’t you take this weight away? Lord, please come and take what’s yours Oh, what’s yours what’s yours what’s yours Lord, please come and take what’s yours For this life was never mine When I gave my life away Darkest night then turned to day I felt the pain but it was fine And I lifted my voice to say Lord, please come and take what’s yours Oh, what’s yours what’s yours what’s yours Lord, please come and take what’s yours For this life was never mine In a world that’s cold and grey I have finally found a way Put my burdens on the floor I don’t own them anyway Lord, please come and take what’s yours Oh, what’s yours what’s yours what’s yours Lord, please come and take what’s yours For this life was never mine

Thanks for this. I like your mix here and simplicity of it.
I smell a repeat of last year's multiple-takes on @popmythology lyric. And I love it! This is a great version. I love the minimalist approach. It's really effective. See You In The Shadows…
This is really a nice take on the lyrics, and so very different from my version and Debs' version! Great work!
Wonderful! I might have to sing this every day.
I very much like the stark sound of this. I especially like the emotion behind the lyrics. I do believe several FAWMers have given a rendition of @popmythology's lyrics, which are very poignant and moving. Great work, guys!
I love how many different versions of this have sprung up, and how different they all are. The syntheticness of this makes it a little more surreal since the lyrics/vocals are so human. Great.
